Highways: Interstate 95 (north/south) is located in Wilson County and Interstate 40 (east/west) is located 30 miles south of Wilson. There are several US Primary highways: US 301, 264, and 117. North Carolina primaries through Wilson include NC 42 and 58.

Railroads: Amtrak provides passenger service to Wilson seven days a week. CSX and Norfolk Southern provide piggyback service and daily switching service.

Bus Service: Carolina Greyhound-Trailways has a terminal located in Wilson while Wilson Transit provides intercity transportation.

Parcel Service: UPS, FedEx, and Emery Worldwide all operate in Wilson.

Motor Freight Carriers: There are twenty-four terminals representing more than thirty-three lines in Wilson. Trucking is available throughout North America on a continual basis.

Air Services: Wilson is served by two airports: the Wilson Municipal Airport and the Rocky Mount-Wilson Airport. The Wilson Municipal Airport has a 4,500' runway and provides charter services. The Rocky Mount-Wilson Airport, located 15 minutes from downtown Wilson, has a 6,000' runway. The Rocky Mount-Wilson airport provides a daily shuttle service to RDU. The Raleigh Durham International Airport is a one-hour drive from Wilson and is serviced by ten commercial airlines.

Ports: The ports of Morehead and Wilmington are approximately a two hour drive from Wilson (120-126 miles). Richmond, VA is approximately 134 miles from Wilson and Hampton Roads is 150 miles away.
